- Small Bubble
- 500mm x 20 metres
Bubble wrap is probably the most recognisable of “traditional” plastic voidfill, as it has been in use for many decades.
Bubble wrap was originally invented in 1957 by Alfred Fielding and Marc Chavannes (who went on to become the founders of Sealed Air Corporation) as a type of wallpaper. Unsurprisingly it didn’t sell well as wallpaper! But it did sell as greenhouse insulation (which was a very forward-thinking, eco-friendly, sustainable thing to do in the 1960s!) Eventually it was realised that bubble wrap could be used as protective packaging, and it’s current use as protective packaging was discovered.
